Hindu Voice to NSW State Government. |

Breaking news - 24th December 2022
By Pdt. Ram Sivan We are delighted and proud to announce that we now have a voice to the State Government through the newly established NSW State’s Religious Communities Advisory Council (the council). Hindu Clergy welcomes this essential initiative taken by the NSW Govt. and we thank the Hon. Mark Coure MP, Minister for Multiculturalism and his team for providing us the opportunity to serve on the council. Two leading and influential members of the Hindu community have been appointed to a 15 member body. One a layman, Mr. Surinder Jain from the Australian Hindu Council and the other Pandit Ramachandra Athreiya - a senior priest of the Australian Council of Hindu Clergy. We hope that with the combined leadership and cooperation of these two gentleman – a layman and a senior and learned member of the clergy - we will be able to advance the social and spiritual well-being of the rapidly growing and expanding Hindu community in NSW and the rest of Australia. Pandit Athreiya met with the Premier on his appointment and presented him with the tradition gift given to Rajas - a lime which symbolises the warding off of negative forces and the establishment of peace and cordial relationships. Lokā samastā sukhino bhavantu - may all beings be happy. |
